Pauline Attias is a local Noosa artist, originally from Amsterdam, the Netherlands. She worked for 13 years as a Flight Attendant with KLM Royal Dutch Airlines before moving to Australia. Her creativity came alive when she was introduced to a world of travelling and new cultures. Using her photographic skills, she started to work as a travel photographer and captured colours, people and natural images with lots of her work being published in travel magazines and guides. After migrating to Australia, her favourite country, she wanted to continue her photographic work, travelling around this amazing country. Instead, she fell in love with Noosa and discovered her creative ability with shells. As a child, she was always fascinated by the natural beauty of these wonderful creations of the ocean. Living in a beachhouse in Noosa that attraction was intensified and soon she started to work with shells showing their purity, colours and diversity. Inspired by African and Aboriginal art, she has tried to express her creativity mostly in an abstract way using different shapes, colours and textures. Creating shell art allows her to translate the best in beach and ocean life. Each frame is an unique journey and creates a feeling of being at one with nature. Pauline displays her work on Wednesdays at Eumundi Markets and Sundays at Caloundra-Bulcock Street Market. |
